this is just a little under a pound of flash, charge it once, use it all day. you need the storage, the touch, the processing power, and the wifi. uberoid gives you just that (except the wifi). this is a great little gadget. while it won’t turn anyone into a self-proclaimed computer genius overnight it will show you how much power this thing has. it is good for personal use, business, & fun. for a device with full windows 7 it is inexpensive, fast, fun, stable, and just a decent device. i highly recommend it for everyone.
this device was recommended to me by a friend. i was hesitant on ordering it. i purchased it and was very disappointed. it does not have the $50 amazon gift card for buying. although it is expensive, i was once again left with no support. i suggest buying somewhere else. if anyone from uberoid could get back in touch with me, it would be much appreciated. it’s a pity they do not do support.
some things you need to know before you get this:
- i have not been able to get dual partitions to work in this version of uberoid. i would suggest the place you download it does a backup when you upgrade so you have a backup image you can use in case something goes wrong.
- this does not have the memory that i need it to have. i had to swap the sd card around to increase the amount of memory it has. i have a 500 mb micro sd card and the current software will allow me to use about 125 mb of it. i would strongly suggest you get a larger one if you plan to make this a permanent device.
- the touchpad is terrible. it’s so small that using two fingers to move your pointer is a chore. i wish i had picked up a wireless mouse.
- i am in no way an expert on these things. this was my first time dealing with android and never had an experience with windows. all of my info for this came from the manual, help forum, and reviews. as such, this may be incorrect or misleading. i am only putting it up there so you know what you are getting. let me know if you find any issues.
Who’s using the V6 and is really happy? I love the V6 and the Tablet but only because I used the USB cable to load Uberoid onto the Tablet. It’s a pain to load the system. The tablet still runs fine and would be my tablet of choice. I did not buy into the V6 because I thought the screen wasn’t so great and because the poor battery life was disappointing. The unit really needs a firm / solid base to stand on. I really don’t like the feeling of the unit when it’s not plugged into the power adapter. Once it’s plugged into the power adapter and working on an AC power source the device works great. I think the unit would have been rated higher if it had solid base and a larger battery.
Overall Review: I’ve been using the tablet since November 2009. I bought it because I was going to make a web designer with the tablet. I found out that the unit has Android OS, WPS. I bought the device from Wal-Mart for $76.00 and I bought the original Windows 7 Lite Micro-SD Card (400 MHz) for $6.00. I read the reviews of others before buying the product and this is what most people had to say about it. I had the device working in about 20 minutes, I discovered a service named Fixy Android and flashed the firmware onto the device using their tool. I did not think that there was much difference in the devices graphics at first but I was wrong. I was shocked at the difference in the graphics with the smartphone version compared to the version I have. I was also surprised at the amount of space the universal version of Windows 7 had on my device. I was able to configure my PC to boot up to a portion of the flash drive. The installation of Windows 7 Universal was way better than the installation for Windows 7 Lite. The tablet was running slower when I got it than the tablet that I was using previously for my projects. I was amazed at the fact that I had to purchase a 50-pin USB cord for my tablet but it was just what I needed. One problem I ran into was the Bluetooth for my device; the device would not connect to my personal Bluetooth for my phone. I was able to fix it by just turning off all of the Bluetooth on my phone so that my personal Bluetooth wouldn’t be interfering with my smartphone for my personal phone. I just kept wondering how my tablet could be running so much slower and then I discovered that I had to download the screen for the tablet (approx. $90) and the Google Play market (approx. $7) to get the tablet running faster. I was impressed with the tablet, WPS, and all of the features that it has. The tablet was a great tool, unlike my previous tablet, the Beep Beep (http://beepbeep.net/tablet/). The tablet was also very easy to use. Other than the problems I had with the Bluetooth, I was very pleased with my tablet. I would purchase this for my family because they would enjoy their tablet. I would purchase it for my own use because it was fairly easy to use. I purchased the V6 tablet because I had to design web sites and a business graphic on the tablet for my college group. Since I had to design my own web sites and graphic in the tablet the physical size of the unit was a problem for me.
