we don’t need that, we don’t need to kill their souls. i can do that on my own. you did a good job of it, and you pointed out the flaws, and you seemed to attack the people who have done that. i don’t need that, as you pointed out, i’m not a thief. i don’t want to steal their souls, so i won’t do that. i don’t have a problem with destroying souls, but i don’t have a problem with destroying other people’s souls, even if it means killing their souls, so that’s a (and it’s a really good one.) (i probably could take the soul of this forum, but i’m not planning on it, it’s just a thought i’ve had.

so a lot of peoples concerns about this is when you do do some cool stuff like that, how do i know its not going to be figured out, how do i know its not going to get leaked. idk. maybe i need to abandon that cool project ive been working on for months, because someone knows how to bypass that. maybe i should spend more time making somebody think i cant do anything by making it so noone can know how i did it. or how i never do it. so this is a big part of the reason i dont go on the internet while im working. or why i dont do any dev work on a laptop. it makes my life a bit safer. i dont think i should have to abandon all my projects to go live in the woods (except for the time im working). i think people are looking at this project and seeing it as a potential vulnerability for other cool things, and theres a lot of really obvious things to do that would make it pretty easy for anyone to see what was going on. people assume i cant think of those things. but if i have to abandon it, i have to abandon it because i honestly cant think of those things. maybe i should develop a new cool project in a new town far away where no one knows anything about me or that i do anything. and that doesnt make much sense. maybe i should just shut down and live in a cabin in the woods, maybe thatll make me feel better.

Might need an update, but the seemingly only one I have (which I wasnt too impressed w/, it havnt run much and I lost interest in it w/ the official releases of NFS. Gave up. though had several savegames and a mostly used ROM, so I may download this one to see if I can get it going.
Good stuff, and I loved the part about getting research and end user product feedback, it is critical to the design process to get into the field and get your hands dirty. The trick is to not wait until you get into the field before you have some working code that you need to analyze. The USB industry has the classic example that many USB devices do not work with Windows as the hardware that implements the USB protocol is not Windows compatible; it’s actually Linux compatible. So while you can make a ton of money and do a ton of research with a large contract, you may as well spend a little money and go into the field. On the flip side, though, you can’t spend a lot of money and not know enough to work on multiple hardware, operating systems, and their capabilities. I have found that the most important thing to research is understanding of the software you are working on, especially with embedded devices, as this can be the most important variable in getting your product to market.
as it is now, i feel like i have to do the crack for one person, publish the key, then give the key to the next person who might find it interesting; which makes for a slow spread. also, i don’t get to even get a thank you for my time (which is monetary in your case) or the book. it seems odd to me that i should get that thing for free, then another cracker should have to do the same process in order to make it available to the public. i can buy this book and its full of useful info, theres more on the ezcd website like this one, so why should he have to work for it?
