in the module for lt-ht software for coils is available a new drawing option: the user can insert an element in order to take into account the heat transfer, between the fluid that passes through the section and the air through the section, simply by inserting in the graphical interface a graphic element that represents such element, for example a pipe. the user can insert a temperature sensor, a heat capacity, a pipe, a channel, a line, a bar, a curve or any other graphical element (as for example a gear) or even a simple block of some material (as for example as concrete).
in unilab coils the user can set the fluid to be used in the calculation. as a matter of fact he can select the fluid by its properties: using the filter’s box you can select the fluid by name (or chemical name). then you can select the fluid using the temperature, pressure, density, specific heat, thermal conductivity, viscosity and also the thermal diffusivity (by selecting the corresponding box).for the thermal diffusivity box, you can select the thermal diffusivity at 25°c, 50°c, 75°c, 100°c, 125°c, 150°c, 175°c, 200°c and 225°c. at these temperatures you can find the thermal diffusivity for air, water, glycol, hfc, cfc, sf6, n2, n2o, argon and some refrigerants. (of course you can calculate thermal diffusivity for any other fluid in the available fluids archive).
