The user input directory has to be entered twice, because you have to set a default directory for the user before the first run.
Before running the application:
Create a text file
Set read-only attribute to all files and folders in the default folder.
Save it.
Delete the text file.
After running the application:
Change the user input directory to the the one where the user wants to modify the files
Change the user input directory again to the default directory, so you get the modifications back to the default directory
Delete the user input directory
The read-only attribute is reset for all files and folders in the user input directory.
Yes, you have to re-enter user input directory to be able to re-read-only the files. This is in the requirement, because you have to be able to delete the user input directory to “start all over again” and have a blank file for the user to work with.

Why I need read-only?
A lot of times, when I copy files, I make new ones with read-only attribute.
When I run the program, I then have the problem that I can not change the read-only attribute of all files and folders.

This is a free utility that will change the read-only attribute (ReadOnly) to a given file or folder.
Usage:
Right click the file or folder you want to change the read-only attribute of, and click Set ReadOnly.
If you want to automatically set the attribute on all subfolders, enter “/s” in the first box.
If you want to automatically set the attribute on all files in a folder, enter its name in the second box.
If you want to automatically set the attribute on files that are linked to a folder, enter its name in the third box.
If you want to automatically set the attribute on all files that are linked to a file, enter its name in the fourth box.
