    A few days ago, I removed some of the daily run of the mill applications from my computer. Normally this includes my operating system, iTunes, and browsers such as Chrome or Firefox. Of course while I did so I made sure not to uninstall any of the third party applications that had become important part of my everyday working life. I quickly realized that all three would fail to install after I reinstalled Windows 10. The only solution was to grab the ISO from Microsoft’s site and hit the “Restore” button. The format and operating system would finally load.

    In the time since that reformatting, Windows 10 has become easier to use, and with it’s numerous overhauls of the interface, has become more secure, stable, and more importantly user friendly.

    The day I installed the operating system, I did the same thing as I did when I installed XP or Vista. The first thing that happened was the loading of the operating system for the first time. The loading was very quick, and it only took me a few hours to fully download and install the operating system. (2 – 3hours)

    From that point on, I have not needed to touch my computer’s interface very often. I’ve installed programs such as AutoIT for making small scripts for accessing websites, and for purchasing games from the Windows Store. I’ve also installed programs such as Chrome, MiniTube, VLC media player and Google Earth.

    In a case filled with emotion and which captured the attention of the country’s entire legal fraternity, the Meghalaya High Court on Friday ruled that the term of Chief Justice Biju Patnaik will go on till the entire collegium of senior judges is seated, and no one can do anything to terminate him, as per the apex court’s order.

    The Court was hearing a bunch of petitions regarding the ‘political witch hunt’ by Deka and his minions, and to protect and preserve the rule of law.

    With the apex court judge order in the recent past to act fast, the court made it clear that Deka, as the chief minister of the state, would not interfere with the Chief Justice’s functioning and he would not be asked to leave his post.

    “The Chief Justice has to be protected and will not be subjected to any kind of pressure or any kind of interference whatsoever. Therefore, the collegium will decide the tenure of the Chief Justice and no one will be entitled to say or do anything to imperil the Chief Justice’s position,” the bench said.

    The Court bench gave this direction after the advocates representing the affected judges presented an affidavit that their collegium had decided to reject the recommendation of the collegium of senior judges and decided not to make any changes in the tenure of the Chief Justice.

    The apex court had on September 21, 2015, constituted a three-member committee to decide the issue and advise the principal and chief secretaries of the respective states to take appropriate action, if any, in the interest of law and justice.

    Referring to the mea culpa of the advocate representing the aggrieved judges, Chief Justice Biju Patnaik said, “We will take a call on this issue and after that, we will decide the fate of the Chief Justice.”

    He said he would decide the issue “in the interest of justice
