In case someone else comes across this question – I solved this issue.
The problem was that the user was trying to run the keygen from the file that was saved after the keygen was run.
The keygen launches a command line window and runs the autocad command, but it needs to run from the original Autocad file. The keygen will not run from the file that it saved it in.
So, instead of trying to run the keygen directly from the file, you need to run the keygen, save it to a file, then run the file, then open the file and copy the text from there.
