The crisp narration of the movie makes it a pleasure to watch, while the clothes, the automobiles, the setting and other small things make you remember that you’re watching a real movie. The storyline sometimes doesn’t move fast enough, and is prone to the usual comedy acts that may not leave you amused. But if you like those, there’s the possibility to watch in times when the movie is on. For the music lovers, the synchronization between the action and the music is quite evident.

It’s a comedy of many shades, but it must be said that all the comedy in BADMAASH COMPANY was very under-utilized, and it was a setback that the movie ended up sounding like a comedy and not a drama. Along with acting, choreography and direction, the script could’ve been much better; besides, the budget is always a constraint in this type of film, and the movie can’t be faulted for that.

The cinematography is the highlight of this movie, and it is evident the Director had tried to capture the decade the movie is set in. As far as the editing is concerned, I found the timing was slightly off, and this is evident throughout, especially when the characters are chatting.

Well, the music too, while not bad, is certainly not great either. The song is composed and sung in sync with the action, and this keeps you glued to the television or the internet. There are a lot of rhyming words and phrases; those would definitely keep children occupied, but adults might find it a tad too much. The sound is very well recorded, and there is hardly any echo, while the background score is perfectly in sync with the pace of the movie, and you don’t miss a song.

Film is a tricky medium. At one end, you’ve got films that put its money on writing, acting, acting and writing; at the other end you have films like BADMAASH COMPANY that wilt under any kind of pressure.
In BADDMAASH COMPANY Shahid Kapoor is boyish in a girl’s skin. He fights to be romantic in the same manner as an ordinary boy would fight to be romantic. It’s a rare combination in the Bollywood film industry where the hero is an unlikely romantic hero with a lot of conviction.
Shahid Kapoor has successfully proved himself as one of the most convincing romantic heroes with his great roles in movies such as RANG DE BASANTI, AGNI, SHOOT OUT OF LOXI, ZERO SUMMERS, BOLLYWOOD: BOLLYWOOD BHARAT and RUDRA BONTI amongst others.
Badmaash Company is a comic caper with all the ingredients that make a good time at the multiplex. It’s a straight road movie with outrageous humour. It’s a diverting slapstick comedy. It has a surprising twist. You come out of the theatre happy and smiling. A simple yet endearing film.
BADMAASH COMPANY is a no-brainer formula, really. This is a film that is all about underdogs using their power of (business) smarts to come out on top. It is more like a psychological thriller that stars Aamir Khan, Vidya Balan and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. The best way to describe it is it is a film about bank fraud, mafia-type frauds and swindling.
BADMAASH COMPANY is a fantastic film. It’s directed by Abhay Deol, co-produced by Abhay, Vidya and Sharmila Tagore and I swear I was impressed at how good it looks like a commercial film. The film has a quality that makes you want to buy it (regardless of whether you’d have actually bought it or not).
