i just updated realtek audio driver for my laptop (dell inspiron 15r). it was working fine before that, but today when i started my laptop, i got the following error: this device cannot start. (code 0x80010102)
waves maxxaudio pro for dell was fairly intuitive when it came to installing. you downloaded the required files from the windows store which were merged into a single exe file. a mere double click of the exe file and presto. a new taskbar window was instantly created showing the new store app. this taskbar would allow you to toggle between the different dell apps that you might have installed and in this case, waves maxxaudio pro 2019. this taskbar could be opened by pressing the windows key + the w key.
while the software will automatically install itself to your w7/8.1 windows folder, you can override that default location. on the bottom left you will find a small button labeled install. clicking on this button will show you a pop up where you can select between your default location and your external drive. because i already had the waves maxxaudio pro folder in my downloads folder i chose to install in my external.
the dell xps 14z came with 4 gigabytes of ram which is more than enough for most pc users. the only issues that i noticed that can be fixed, or not when having lots of software installed is the sluggish performance. this is mainly due to the fact that the processor is an intel core i5 which is slower than my motherboard’s 6 core processor. since i did not encounter any issues with the audio while using waves maxxaudio pro this may be a placebo effect but it’s best to install the software once.
with only 10.4 gigabytes of storage available, i was pleasantly surprised with the amount of storage that was dedicated to the waves maxxaudio pro installation. it automatically downloads the files required and then installs them to the download folder without too much hassle.
even if you have your original drivers already installed, this will give you a way to check if its not the original version (the recommended version of waves maxxaudio pro) that your speakers are missing.
