as i mentioned in the forum, i have over 1000 hours in my skybox stb and it is just a test unit for me so i don’t care too much about putting any decent amount of time into it. i did find that the stb loader took me a good 2-3 hours to strip and get back on the air. if i had any complains it would be that the installer didnt always detect the null modem adapters, and i also had problems with the recovery tool, i think i might have got a couple of my wirless adapters mixed up. of course there are a lot of forum users who have worked their way through the same process and have had no problems. anyway, i would recommend that you download stb erom upgrade, install it and then follow the steps, it took me about an hour and half in total to do this, and it took less time than i thought it would, once i get my skybox back up and running im happy with it. also, i have found that i have a problem with my skybox not turning off after a period of time, the main problem is that the power switch is not powered off, but the power is disconnected, and i can turn it on, but it will only stay on for about 20 minutes, once i switch it off, it will turn back on without any problems. i dont know if this is something that can be fixed by using the stb erom upgrade, but i will try it and see what happens. anyway i hope this helps. 🙂
i just had the same problem as so called there. i went online, and typed in “stb erom upgrade”. it downloaded the software, but had it, and said “this software will install stb erom version 1.0. i had to reinstall the software, but i got the right version. hope this helps!
