Remove Empty Folders will let you select, or type, a folder, and will then proceed to scan it and all descendant folders for empty ones. Meaning, with no files inside.
If the checkbox “Test Only” is checked (normal and default), nothing will be actually done, but the list will be shown. [ If it is unchecked all the empty folders will actually be deleted. ]

Notes:

Keep in mind that if you have a folder or sub-folder with a.* file inside of it, you will get the results of that file being processed. If you don’t want that, you can easily fix that by using a second text file as a filter (that can have a space in it) and excluding it from being passed on to the results.

The limit for a folder in that sample program is 200. That is because 200 is the maximum value for an array, so that’s the maximum number of items the program will ever have to process.

What it does:
This is the v0.1 of the tool. It finds the folders with no files in them. It checks, in default mode, the folder in which it finds the empty folder. If the folder does not exist, it creates it. If it does exist, it will make sure to ONLY remove empty folders, and ONLY the folders in which it finds the empty folder.
The tool will first check that the folder with empty files, is a valid folder, and exists. If this check fails, the script will fail.
The first thing it will do, is to check, if there are files in the selected folder. If there are files in it, it will proceed to delete all the empty folders. If there are no files in it, it will then proceed to check, if there is a folder, in which the empty folder is found. If this folder does not exist, it will check, if there is any other folder which has no files in it. It will do this until no folder that has an empty folder in it, can be found.
If the folder in which it finds the empty folder is not valid, it will not proceed with the rest of the operation.
If there is a failed folder, that is the folder it will try to delete, it will then proceed with checking the next folder in which the empty folder is found, and so on.

Changes made after 0.1:
Version 1.0 is the first version. The list is based on the filesize of the folder, and the checkbox “test only” makes sure that the size is correct, as it should be. The folders are checked on the first level. The list is to be saved to disk for later editing and removal.
1.1 – Fixed a bug with folder renaming – caused it to rename all of the folders it should not rename
1.2 – Uses of the save-button can now be used even if you remove the list from the textbox – this was causing some problems if the user clicked the “save” button, after the list had been created. Now the save-button works always.
